African Black Soap! Follow Along as we Curate our Soap Collection.

African black soap is a traditional plant-based soap made by combining alkaline ash from roasted botanical materials with oils and butters. Its main benefits are cleansing, oil removal, and a naturally rustic, sometimes mildly exfoliating texture. Its strength is also its main limitation: the alkaline formula may be drying or irritating for sensitive skin.
Africa’s black soap tradition is more than a skincare trend—it is a living craft shaped by botanical knowledge, regional ingredients, and generations of hands that understood the value of cleansing with what the land provided. Our curated black soap collection honors that tradition with raw shea butter and naturally exfoliating ingredients designed to wash away buildup while helping skin feel fresh, moisturized, and smooth.
Traditional African black soap made with plant-derived ash, botanical oils, and nourishing butters. Its earthy color and rustic texture reflect its handcrafted production. Designed for body cleansing, it may provide a rich, clarifying wash but can feel strong on sensitive or dry skin. Patch test before use and store dry between applications.
Conditioning from plant oils and butters
Shea butter, cocoa butter, palm oil, and other fats can give the soap a softer, less stripped feel than a formula made primarily from highly cleansing oils. The result still depends on the recipe and how much of the soap is used.
